Dolores Catania, a standout star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has recently opened up about the complicated dynamics between Teresa Giudice and her estranged sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, and how it affects her own relationship with both women.
Dolores Catania, who maintains friendships with both Teresa and Melissa, shared her thoughts in a candid interview with DailyMail.com.
When asked about how Teresa feels about her continued friendship with Melissa, Catania was straightforward. “Listen, does she love it? I’m sure she doesn’t love it,” she confessed. However, she was quick to add, “But she doesn’t hate it either, because there’s no reason not for me to be friends with Melissa.” Catania explained that her long-standing connection with both women made it natural for her to maintain her friendships, despite the rift between Teresa and Melissa. “I was there from the beginning and I’ve been friends with them through their ins and outs, so Teresa’s not really one to tell people who they can be friends with.”
Dolores also reflected on the potential for healing in the future, suggesting that the situation between Teresa and Melissa could shift. She pointed out that in any friendship group, conflicts often cause people to pick sides, but what happens when those friendships are repaired? “Because what happens when they get close again if they get close again?” she pondered. “And I’m not just saying them, but other friends in groups. When they get into fights you pick a side and then they make up, then where do you stand?”
While Catania hasn’t seen Joe and Melissa Gorga recently, she confirmed that she remains in touch with them. “I keep in touch with everyone,” Catania shared. She also gave an update on her recent interactions with other cast members, revealing that she had been with Teresa, Jen Aydin, and Kim D on Teresa’s podcast and planned to meet with Margaret Josephs and Jen Fessler later in the day.
Dolores Catania is set to appear on Traitors season three in January.
