A man in Kanpur suffered serious injuries after being thrown into the air when a speeding police vehicle rammed into him in a hit-and-run incident.
A CCTV footage of the incident shows the police vehicle hitting the man from behind as he suddenly came to cross the road. It can be seen in the footage that the man was flung into the air due to the impact of the accident while the car sped away from the scene. After the accident, the man was rushed to a hospital after the incident, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.
According to the police, the incident happened in the Sachendi area of Kanpur some days ago. The constable, who was driving the vehicle, reached an agreement with the man’s family after the accident.
Speaking about the case, Kanpur Police’s Additional DCP Vijendra Kumar Dwivedi said, “In this matter, no complaint has been filed by either party so far, which is why no action has been taken at the moment.”
Sources told India Today TV that the family of the injured man reached a settlement with the accused driver, and do not wish to initiate any action in the case.
Earlier in August this year, a woman died, and her 12-year-old daughter was critically injured after a speeding car driven by a minor boy hit their scooter in Kanpur.
The 17-year-old boy, who was behind the wheel, was caught by the locals and handed over to the police. Besides, the minor’s father has also been arrested by the Kanpur Police.
