Warner Bros. and DC Studios have unveiled the first official poster for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, giving fans a glimpse at the new era of the Man of Steel.

The Superman poster was shared across Warner Bros. and DC’s social media platforms, accompanied by a brief audio clip that offers fans an early taste of the movie’s score. Composed by John Murphy, known for his work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad, the music teases the epic and hopeful tone that James Gunn’s reimagining of the Man of Steel aims to capture.

The poster features David Corenswet fully suited as Superman, soaring into the sky in a striking image that captures the character’s iconic essence. Accompanied by the tagline “Look Up,” the poster also highlights that Superman was filmed for IMAX, teasing the scale of Corenswet’s first cinematic solo outing as the Last Son of Krypton.

In addition to the poster reveal, Warner Bros. and DC Studios have confirmed that the highly-anticipated first trailer for Superman will debut on Thursday, December 19. The trailer is scheduled to premiere online at 9 AM EST.

What to expect from James Gunn’s Superman movie

Superman is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.

Superman is being written and directed by James Gunn.
