It’s official! Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are engaged after one year of dating.

After much speculation, the Only Murders In The Building star has taken to Instagram to announce that she is engaged to the record producer and songwriter.

She announced the news with a carousel of sweet photos showing off her stunning new ring.

She accompanied the post with the words: “forever begins now”.

Blanco proposed to Gomez with a show-stopping marquise diamond set into a yellow gold melee set band.

While Gomez and Blanco haven’t yet shared details about the engagement it appears the proposal happened during an intimate picnic on a movie set judging by the video posted to her story.

The duo appeared to enjoy some taco bell and Champagne during the proposal.

Gomez shared a photo of herself admiring her ring while sitting at the sweet picnic set up.

Her post also included a selfie of Gomez grinning from ear to ear while showing off her newly minted ring finger.

Another sees the newly engaged couple share an adorable embrace. Blanco kisses Gomez on the forehead while she proudly flaunts her new ring.

Blanco was the first to comment on Gomez’ post writing: “hey wait … that’s my wife”.

Tens of thousands followed suit to share their well wishes for the duo.

“Congratulations,” wrote Law and Order SVU star Marishka Hargitay.

“Waiiiitttt hold on,” wrote a shocked Cardi B.

“YES!!!! Congratulations!!!! So happy for you both!!!!” The Vampire Diaries actor Nina Dobrev wrote.

Gwyneth Paltrow expressed her excitement by simply writing, “Selenaaaaa” in all capitals.

The couple’s happy news comes after they announced their relationship last December.

Gomez went public with their relationship on December 7, 2023 by confirming on celebrity fan account PopFaction’s Instagram that she was in a relationship.

She then shared a photo with who looks like Blanco on her Instagram Story. She also commented on one fan account post of the two of them writing, “He is my absolute everything in my heart”.

Since then, Blanco has made numerous appearances on Gomez’ Instagram, including an iconic Halloween couple photo and has been by her side at several public events.

Earlier this year Blanco accompanied the Single Soon singer at this year’s Golden Globes where she was nominated for her role in the popular comedy series Only Murders In The Building.

During the night, Gomez took to her Instagram Story with some sweet behind moments.

In one of them, Gomez and Blanco share a passionate kiss. She captioned the story with the words, “I won”.

While they’ve only been dating for a year, the two artists have been connected for much longer.

Blanco became friends with Gomez’ ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in 2009 a year before Gomez and Bieber dated for the first time.

He has worked with Bieber and several other artists in Gomez’ circle including ex-boyfriend The Weeknd and friend Camila Cabello. 

Blanco also worked with Gomez on several of her own projects including her songs Same Old Love and Kill ‘Em With Kindness from her 2015 album Revival.
