TV star Kristin Cavallari has shared the scary time an intruder broke into her house.

On the latest episode of her podcast Let’s Be Honest, The Hills star revealed she woke up to an intruder in her bedroom during a family trip four years ago.

Cavallari prefaced the story by sharing her kids “still do not know to this day”.

The Laguna Beach star shares sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, nine with her ex-husband Jay Cutler.

“That night I had Camden in the bed with me. Cam and I were sleeping,” she said.

Cavallari was with her then-husband and their kids on holiday in the Bahamas in 2020. For the last week of their vacation, they stayed in a house.

The star recalled the chilling moment she woke up to her bedroom door opening and a man crawling on the bedroom floor.

“I was so out of it because obviously I had just woken up,” Cavallari continued.

The reality TV star then confronted the intruder.

“I go, ‘What the f–k are you doing?’ This man stands up, runs out the door and, you guys, he had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants, the full thing, right? And I went, ‘Oh, f–k.'”

Cavallari said she “didn’t yell, I didn’t scream” as her son was in bed next to her.

“You think in those moments that that’s what you would do, but your instincts just kick in. I honestly felt like I was in Mission Impossible.”

It wasn’t until she woke up her husband that the Very Cavallari star said she got “really nervous” and started “shaking”.

“I was able to process then what just happened, but until that point, I was not scared. I was really calm.”

Cavallari later found out the intruder was the HVAC technician who ended up stealing some money they had in a backpack.

According to the star, they got the money back.

She called the incident “one of the scariest things” she’s been through.

The reality star confirmed her kids are still deliberately in the dark about the incident.

“I will not tell them probably until they’re adults,” she said, explaining, “Some things kids do not need to know”.

Cavallari is best known for starring on the reality TV series The Hills and Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County in the early noughties.

She was married to former NFL star Cutler for over a decade from 2013 to 2022.

The star was most recently in a relationship with TikTok star Mark Estes who she split from in November 2024 after seven months of dating.
