Uttar Pradesh: Class 11 student kills mother, stays with dead body for six days in Gorakhpur

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday said that a woman was killed by her son, a Class 11 student, at their Gorakhpur home, and he stayed with the dead body for six days.

Earlier, the son had misled his father and the police by claiming that his mother died from an accidental fall, officials said.

According to the police, when his mother Aarti Verma woke him up to go to school, he got angry and pushed her, causing serious injuries. However, the son did not take her to the hospital; instead, he left for school. She later died due to excessive bleeding.

When the boy returned from school, he was upset to find his mother’s dead body and lay next to it for six days, the officials added.

The death came to light after his father, Ram Milan, an assistant scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Chennai, returned home after being unable to contact his wife for six days. The door was open, and a foul smell emanated from inside. When he went in, he found his wife’s dead body lying on the floor, the officials said.

The son then misled his father and the police, claiming that she had died after falling by herself. He said he locked the house from the outside in panic and wandered aimlessly for four days, police said.

However, when the autopsy revealed that the body had been dead for six days, the police re-interrogated the boy, and he confessed to his crime, according to officials.

The police also found evidence suggesting that the body had been dragged, and CCTV footage confirmed that no outsider had entered the house, police said.

The teenager has been taken into custody.
